CHRISTIANSBURG, VA –The New River Valley Chapter of the Police Benevolent Association voted Wednesday night following one-on-one interviews with candidates for the 7th House of Delegates district to endorse Dave Nutter for re-election to the House of Delegates. “I am deeply honored to again have the support of the rank-and-file peace officers who put their lives on the line to keep us safe,” said Nutter. “Spending time with the officers and their families as I do on a regular basis helps to always be aware of the incredible sacrifice they make for our safety each and every day.” “The law enforcement community knows that Dave Nutter has stood with the men and women who put their lives on the line to keep the New River Valley safe,” said chapter president Jason Slaughter. Slaughter wrote in his endorsement letter, “We ask our members, their families and friends, and all citizens who respect the strong and efficient enforcement of our laws, to cast their ballots in the upcoming election in your favor.” The NRV PBA is made up of peace officers of all the police agencies in the New River Valley. Dave Nutter is serving his fourth term as a member of the Virginia House of Delegates. First elected in 2001, he serves on the Committee on Health, Welfare and Institutions; Committee on Militia, Police and Public Safety; and the Committee on Science and Technology. In 2006 he was also appointed to the Joint Commission on Health Care, a joint committee composed of members of the House and Senate that looks at long term issues confronting health policy. |
